With the help of a milling machine, you can do tapering, flattening, curving any work piece with a certain irregular pattern at a number of angles. Therefore, you must follow certain safety precautions while handling any milling machines.

  • Never operate the machine alone

You should never be alone in the workshop while working with the milling machine. There should be someone always present, who can be useful to get you medical help in case it is needed.


  • Pre-inspect the machine before the start

Before you start a milling machine, you must thoroughly inspect the machine to check any damaged or malfunctioning parts. Replace it in case you find any defective part.

  • Wear adequate safety gear

Wear all necessary safety gears including safety goggles while working with the milling machine.

  • Keep safe distance from revolving cutter

Extra care must be taken while dealing with various cutters fitted with the milling machine. While dismantling any cutter too, you must be very careful.

  • Remove chips

Use suitable brush to remove the chips instead of using bare hands to prevent any cut.

  • Use cutting oil with care

Make sure that the cutting oil is not splashed back to you.
